Maxine Medina and Timmy Llana’s love story is nothing short of magical as they tied the knot in two weddings just recently—first, in an intimate church wedding in Antipolo and the second, in a grand beach wedding on the island of Palawan.
Prior to their weddings, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance to talk with Maxine about their relationship.
Maxine shares that she and Timmy have actually known each other since high school, way before they even got together.
Maxine recalls, “I was in first year high school, and then siya college. I was in the varsity for volleyball. I remember vividly na lagi kaming magkasalubong… Iyon iyong first meet namin. Tapos, ayon, lagi na siyang nasa gym every time na nagte-training ako.”
But they weren’t high school sweethearts, despite having the same circle of friends. In fact, Timmy only confessed after Maxine joined Miss Universe and joined showbiz, then they reconnected through, yet again, common friends.
On April 4, 2022, Timmy proposed to Maxine while on vacation in Palawan, in the midst of Maxine’s advance birthday celebration.
Maxine didn’t even hesitate before saying “yes,” sealing the deal for their engagement.
Upon being asked if they ever regretted taking so long to get together, Maxine answered that it feels like “God’s timing.”

With its contemporary architecture and transparent walls, wedding attendees can easily appreciate the surrounding foliage at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
The church has become a sought-after venue for weddings, hosting an impressive 60-70 weddings each month, often with multiple ceremonies in a single day.
According to Dominic Galicia Architects, the architectural firm responsible for the church’s design, the church’s geometric structure appears to “transform in shape.”
As one approaches the dome of the church, the view becomes increasingly enchanting, featuring lush greenery, refreshing breezes, and the melodious chirping of birds outside.
This breathtaking setting brings you closer to both nature and God, making it the ideal location for a wedding.
THE BRIDE AND THE GROOM
For the church wedding, Maxine opted for a simple Greek-goddess-inspired gown by renowned designer Mark Bumgarner.

Jefferson Si is the designer behind Maxine’s custom-made shoes.
In an Instagram post, Jefferson details that, “embellished with crystals held by illusion perplex straps, these flats are designed to seamlessly float on her feet and shimmer against the beautiful sunset”.
Raymond Mateo was the hairstylist behind Maxine’s elegant low bun, similar to her Miss Universe 2016 hairstyle.
Albert Kurniawan was, yet again, the hands behind Maxine’s glowing warm bronzy wedding look with sultry eye makeup.
In an Instagram post about Maxine and Timmy’s wedding, Albert shows off their long history and writes, “I first work with Maxine way back 2008, we both were just starting back then.
“We had tried many makeup looks for shows, shoot, and some magazine work…
“And then we meet again during her prep for the Miss Universe, we were focusing on that Miss Universe Perfect makeup look and mostly glamour but yet highlighting all her features…?
“Now that I am doing her bridal makeup, I asked her what kind of makeup she wants for her wedding day, and her answer was so simple ‘ikaw na bahala.’
Albert Kurniawan once again showed off his skill by highlighting her golden tan and giving her a “special bridal glow” through bronzing power and coral brush.
He also highlighted her chinita eyes with dark metallic bronze eyeshadow and an elongated black eyeliner.
For the lips, he gave her a neutral lip look and instead focused on the shiny gloss.
The final touch to her wedding look came in the form of a gorgeous white flower bouquet, arranged by florist and event stylist Tei Endencia.
Meanwhile, Timmy looked dashing in a beige tuxedo and white undershirt.
THE WEDDING RECEPTION
The beach wedding reception for Maxine and Timmy took place immediately following their wedding ceremony, in a nearby beachside location.
In an Instagram post, Maxine cherished a precious moment from her wedding reception: a dance with her father in the gentle drizzling rain, shielded by her brother Matthew Kent Medina and an umbrella.
In her caption, Maxine wrote, “In the rain, with my dad and me dancing, sharing a moment that warms my heart, my kuya, ever supportive as always, stands behind us with an umbrella. This photo is everything. I love you, Dad @maxmedina_64 and my kuya @matkenmed forever!”
