Mooryati Soedibyo Carries on Ideals of Kartini

Mustika Ratu’s official Instagram account has not yet posted the sad news. Neither has the deceased’s second daughter, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, who currently runs the family business of PT Mustika Ratu and Puteri Indonesia Foundation.

Mustika Ratu’s last upload on social media highlighted Mooryati Soedibyo as an inspirational figure who continued Kartini’s ideals. “Founder of PT Mustika Ratu Tbk and Puteri Indonesia Foundation whose extraordinary journey continues to inspire women across generations,” read the caption of the post on Tuesday, April 23.

Mooryati Soedibyo is the granddaughter of Sunan Pakubuwono X, King of Surakarta Palace. Since the age of 3, Mooryati had lived at the Surakarta Palace, learning many things, including etiquette, classical dance, fine arts, batik, ngadi saliro ngadi busono (beauty care philosophy), nutritious plants, herbal medicine, and traditional cosmetics.

The lessons about concocting herbal medicine gave rise to her hobby of consuming them regularly and sharing authentic Keraton recipes with her friends, which led her to build the herbal medicine business for health and beauty.
