Raffles Hotels & Resorts launches ‘Retreat by Raffles’, a Collection of curated well-being retreats for the mindful traveler

Retreat by Raffles promises a deeply restorative journey that touches all five senses, through spa treatments and rituals for rejuvenation, physical movement in nature, local cultural connection, conscious cuisine and gentle spiritual awakening.

LONDON – Raffles Hotels & Resorts unveil Retreat by Raffles, a new concept for immersive well-being available in select locations across the luxury brand. To kick off this exciting new global initiative, the signature retreat program will debut at Raffles Singapore – the brand’s namesake and original flagship hotel – and at Raffles Bali, which joined the portfolio in 2021, offering guests truly one-of-kind experiences at both urban and resort destinations. Further retreats will be announced at Raffles properties worldwide throughout 2023.

Each retreat, be it on an Indonesian island or secreted in the urban heart of a city, is a sumptuous sojourn characterised by a distinctive weave of elements: spa treatments and rituals for rejuvenation, wellness cuisine with a nutritional focus, cultural or community connection and mindful movement in nature, the greatest healer of all. Personalised and co-created with prestigious wellness partners and expert practitioners, a Retreat by Raffles embraces advanced beauty, deep health and emotional well-being. All itineraries will be coordinated alongside the guest’s personal well-being butler, available 24 hours a day; Raffles is famed worldwide for its outstanding butler service, and the well-being-specific butlers will offer the same level of expertise and deep knowledge of the destination as their counterparts.

Emlyn Brown, Global Vice President of Well-being at Accor, says: “Our new Retreat by Raffles is a holistic concept which combines active well-being, self-empowerment and connection with nature. They are guaranteed to resonate with a global audience of luxury travellers. Through curated programs, which balance serenity, harmony, relaxation, recovery and pleasure, our inaugural retreats at Raffles Bali and Raffles Singapore will further elevate these properties as havens for well-being. We are proud of the depth and authenticity of what these experiences will offer our valued guests and are excited to announce further iterations of Retreat by Raffles throughout the year.”

Retreat by Raffles – Raffles Bali

Famed for its natural beauty, Bali has always been a popular destination for those seeking spiritual enlightenment. Itineraries at Raffles Bali incorporate the wealth of local wisdom on the island; chakra balancing, sound bowl therapy, meditation in the secret cave, yoga and reiki healing will all be offered by community experts. Each day starts and ends with a sunrise and sunset blessing ceremony and journaling, and throughout the stay, guests can choose from a range of activities including cooking classes or the preparation of Jamu – a traditional herbal medicine native to Indonesia. Further activities include a cultural exploration to a Balinese house and relaxing spa treatments at the resort’s state-of-the-art facilities. Guests are invited to stay active using the 250 sqm beachfront infinity pool, fitness centre, hard-floored tennis courts, and multiple outdoor jogging trails throughout the resort. An important component to Retreat by Raffles at Raffles Bali is the deliciously healthy cuisine. Guests will be invited to experience the ‘Five Steps Journey’, a dedicated menu which introduces exotic dishes from all over Southeast Asia, featuring sustainably farmed produce, presented in a contemporary style.

Retreat by Raffles – Raffles Singapore

Raffles Singapore offers a luxurious haven within the famously bustling city, making it the ideal setting for Raffles’ first urban retreat. Every day starts with sunrise yoga at the rooftop pool and dedicated time for reflective journaling. Raffles Singapore’s famous butlers can organise a wealth of well-being activities for guests, such as a sound healing experience including gongs, singing bowls, and the human voice itself at The Intan, a private Peranakan home museum. Guided walks within the Singapore Botanical Gardens with a local nature expert are also included. Guests can also enjoy unlimited access to the award-winning hydrothermal facilities at Raffles Spa including a vitality pool filled with mineral-rich Peruvian Pink Salt, a Herbal Sauna Room scented with a range of calming aromas and an Aromatherapy Steam Room that releases pure salt vapour, as well as a choice of spa treatments inspired by the wellness philosophies of Asia. Guests at Raffles Singapore can also choose to dine at one of the nine different dining establishments at the hotel, which combine the hotel’s well-loved culinary traditions with contemporary dining concepts by renowned celebrity chefs. Guests with particular nutritional goals can have menus curated by the culinary team on request.

Both hotels will offer exclusive in-room wellness amenities for guests booked on a Retreat by Raffles experience. Designed to aid a restful sleep, these special extras include essential oil blends, diffusers, a well-being and mindfulness journal, mood audio and a crystal eye mask.
