“Princesses of Putri Indonesia (Indonesian beauty pageant) have been asked to promote destinations wherever they come from and wherever they serve,” he informed at the Presidential Palace here after accompanying President Widodo to a briefing with the winner and finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023.

One of the super-priority destinations, namely Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, was promoted during the 42nd ASEAN Summit on May 10–11, 2023, he noted.

The destinations are Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara), Likupang (North Sulawesi), and Borobudur (Central Java).

In addition, several other tourist destinations, such as Bangka Belitung, the Seribu Islands, Wakatobi, and Raja Ampat, will also be promoted by the Puteri Indonesia winner and finalists.

“The younger generation is expected to build awareness about tourist destinations and creative economy products ranging from culinary, fashion, and crafts,” Uno said.
