Prabowo-Gibran Officially Appointed as Elected President and Vice President of Indonesia 2024


ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia officially appointed Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected President and Vice President of Indonesia in 2024. This determination was made after the General Election Commission completed the national recapitulation of the 2024 Election votes.

Prabowo-Gibran was declared victorious over two other pairs of presidential candidates and vice presidential candidates with a very wide margin of votes.

Chairman of the General Election Commission, Hasyim Asyari, said that the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair won 96,214,691 valid votes.

“Representing the General Election Commission throughout Indonesia, we thank the president, the House of Representatives, heads of ministries, government, government institutions, presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs, fellow election organizers, the Election Supervisory Body for their hard work in organizing the 2024 elections this,” said Hasyim, at the General Election Commission Building, Jakarta Wednesday, March 20 2024.

The results of the national General Election Commission recapitulation consist of votes obtained in 38 provinces and 128 overseas election committees. The total national valid votes were 164,227,475.

Based on the recapitulation results of the General Election Commission, Prabowo-Gibran was ahead with 96,214,691 valid votes from the total national valid votes.

Then the candidate pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar won 40,971,906 votes and was followed by the candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with 27,040,878 votes.

“We have tried our best to serve election participants, including trying to be transparent, honest and responsible. “Perhaps it will become a historical record throughout the election, the vote recapitulation will be broadcast live via live streaming,” added Hasyim.

Prabowo Subianto’s First Speech After Winning the Election

Prabowo Subianto delivered his first speech after being appointed as elected President of Indonesia by the General Election Commission on Wednesday, March 20 2024.

In his speech, Prabowo expressed his thanks to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the Indonesian people who made him elected president in the 2024 elections.

Prabowo explained that without the support of President Jokowi and the Indonesian people, he would not emerge as the winner in the 2024 elections. Apart from that, Prabowo was also grateful to be embraced by President Jokowi, who had been his political opponent in the previous elections in Indonesia.

“I have finished fighting Jokowi and for the last 10 years I have been embraced by Jokowi and he encouraged me so that today I received a mandate from the people,” said Prabowo at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara 4, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20 2024.

In this regard, Prabowo explained that now is the right time for the entire community to unite again and not be divided due to the elections, considering that we are currently entering the holy month of Ramadan.

“I am Prabowo Subianto as the elected President together with Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the elected vice president promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition. We express our thanks and appreciation to all chairmen, cadres and member parties of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition,” he said. (ATN)
