Marriott’s The Luxury Collection unveils new property in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia

Marriott International’s Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of a new waterfront property in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.

The TA’AKTANA Hotel marks the brand’s first venture in Labuan Bajo and its second in Indonesia.

The new property features 70 guest rooms, including 25 villas and 45 suites, each with outdoor balconies.

Designed by ANP Interiors, the resort’s architecture and interiors pay homage to the Indonesian Sea Nomads, with seven overwater villas.

The design incorporates handcrafted wood finishings and rich textures.

Villa guests can also access a dedicated 24-hour butler service.

TA’AKTANA hosts three unique restaurants, namely Leros, an all-day dining restaurant; Umasa, which caters to an authentic Indonesian culinary experience; and Taba, a Robata grill.

The Nera Lounge and Maiga! bar provides guests with sea views and a selection of beverages and tapas.

The resort also features a fitness centre and the Di’a Spa, complete with six private treatment rooms, steam room, plunge pool and others.

TA’AKTANA boasts two meeting spaces and an oceanfront chapel for weddings.

Its prime location in Labuan Bajo offers convenient accessibility via a short drive from Komodo International Airport.

The Luxury Collection vice president and global brand leader Philipp Weghmann said: “TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo, marks a significant landmark as not only the first property in East Nusa Tenggara for The Luxury Collection brand but also the first for the Marriott International portfolio at large.

“As we continue our global foray into the resort category, TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo is a natural and stunning fit. The Luxury Collection provides today’s global travellers with rare experiences that are deeply reflective of the destination, and through that lens, we invite guests to discover the beauty and vibrant history of Labuan Bajo.”
