Luxury villas in Bali have always been popular for expats in Singapore. Winging away for a quick Indonesian holiday is good for the soul but knowing where to stay in Bali requires research. Luckily, TED HOEK from Villas of Bali has the lowdown on incredible villas in Bali to rent and buy. And he highlights the coolest neighbourhoods in Bali right now!
You have an enviable office location! Tell us how Villas of Bali began.
I co-founded Villas of Bali in 2014 with two of my Dutch colleagues fuelled by a shared passion for Bali and its unique culture, lifestyle and stunning natural beauty. Who doesn’t love Bali?! We’re a real estate agency specialising in the sale and rental of luxury villas in this little slice of paradise. We identified a growing demand for high-end luxury villas in Bali and were keen to provide an exceptional level of service to both buyers and renters.
Who makes up your professional team?
Our experienced team includes real estate agents, property managers, marketing gurus, legal specialists and administrative staff. We selectively bring on board only dedicated professionals committed to providing top-notch services to discerning clients.
You help clients buy and sell luxury villas in Bali. Tell us about the process.
Despite Indonesia being a very laid-back country, the process of buying or selling a villa in Bali can be surprisingly complex. The Bali property market is a mix of leasehold and freehold properties. We offer both types of properties to our clients, and can advise on the pros and cons of each option.
For Singapore expats it’s surprisingly easy to purchase a leasehold property. Leasehold is a form of ownership very well suited to foreign property investors, whereas freehold ownership is traditionally more for local Indonesians. Therefore, the purchase process is a little more complex for freehold properties.
We work closely with our clients to identify their needs and preferences on location, style and amenities. Then we help them to navigate the legal and regulatory requirements to secure their dream property.
Why is now a good time to invest in real estate in Bali?
Bali’s an attractive destination for real estate investment due to its growing tourism industry. It’s a hub for soaking in culture, relaxing by the beach, shopping for stylish fashion, and enjoying great food and nightlife. It’s little wonder that the appetite for Indonesian holidays, especially in Bali, has been steadily growing over the years. This has led to an increase in demand for high-end accommodation, in particular, villas.
With a move towards remote working, Bali’s become a popular destination for those seeking a sea change and a slower pace of life. Either as a new home or as a chilled weekend escape, Bali is ideal for expats in Singapore.
Luxury villas in Bali are an attractive investment as they can generate significant rental income. After you’ve bought your dream villa, we can help rent it out for you. When you’re not enjoying it yourself, of course!
Villas of Bali also specialises in villa rental for that relaxing Indonesian holiday. What options are available?
We offer a variety of villa rental options to suit the needs of our clients. If you’re keen to dip your toe in the market but not ready to buy, we have villas available for a year lease. Or if you’re looking for a summer break, our monthly rental option is perfect. We also offer daily rental options for clients who want to experience the luxury of a villa for a long weekend away from the hustle and bustle.
