Bali, Indonesia, is a renowned tropical paradise that tops many travellers’ bucket lists.
Yet, off its southeastern coast lie two lesser-known gems: Lembongan Island and Nusa Ceningan, which hold their own allure for visitors.
The connection between these two islands is as intriguing as the territories themselves.
The famed Yellow Bridge, with its striking aesthetics, spans the narrow gap between them.
As per Bali Golden Tour, the bridge measures approximately 1.5 metres in width and extends just over 100 metres in length.
Constructed in late 2016, the bridge was initially made of wood. However, after the original structure was destroyed, it was rebuilt using iron for £3.8 million.
The vibrant paint job serves a practical purpose – to shield the iron from saltwater damage and prevent rusting, it has been reported.
While the reason behind the choice of yellow remains a mystery, this bold colour has transformed the bridge into a tourist hotspot.
The small yet famous Yellow Bridge has attracted so many tourists that it has garnered a following on TripAdvisor, where visitors have praised both its aesthetic appeal and practicality.
Evilia D said: “Very cool place to see especially at sunset. Two scooters can only just pass on this bridge so be careful.
“Located in Nusa Lembongan…One of the popular spots for local tourists. I enjoyed the walk, but nothing special. [SIC]”.
DStacey shared their experience as well, saying: “Your options are walk across, drive a motorbike, or be driven on a motorbike. Definitely a must-do if you are on Nusa Lembongan.”
They continued, “Once you cross over go right up to the point sit at the cafe and just watch the perfect 3m waves just roll in. Mesmerising. Blue Lagoon is a little bit further.”
Another visitor, MT, chimed in with enthusiasm: “This is super fun. you can ride over it with your scooter. The wind between these islands was strong so hold your hat. You get a gorgeous view of the water, the seaweed farms, and the boats. I loved it.”
