If you’re looking for a sign that it’s time to overhaul your fragrance wardrobe, here it is: Beyoncé has just unveiled the next already-viral scent in her perfume arsenal. After last year’s release of the clementine, jasmine sambac, and golden amber–noted Cé Noir, the superstar is following up with Cé Lumière eau de parfum, now available to preorder.
As illustrated through an Instagram reel, Cé Lumière’s bottle is topped with a half-domed cap and stairlike edges on its neck that are similar to its predecessor’s. Cé Lumière is also developed in France, crafted and designed by Beyoncé, and anchored with a customized stand just for the bottle. But instead of having a chrome tone, the new scent’s packaging is completely gilded, to evoke lumière or “light.” The video even depicts the sun rising behind the bottle in a desert and lighting it from within.
“Some day you’re gonna shine on your own. CÉ LUMIÈRE,” Beyoncé wrote in a second Instagram post, featuring an image of her silhouette illuminated by a single source of direct light. Cé Lumière contains top notes of spicy Madagascar black pepper, fruity Italian mandarin EO, and heart notes of jasmine sambac and rhubarb, along with base notes of Indonesian patchouli and skin musk.
Beyoncé understands the importance of timing better than most, which is why the upcoming fragrance is slated to ship in November for holiday arrival in the United States and Canada. Along with high anticipation to test the new eau de parfum, Bazaar editors are waiting with bated breath for a Cé Lumière unboxing video from the queen herself.
Cé Lumière is available to preorder for $160 exclusively at parfum.beyonce.com.
