So Official Indomie Ice Cream Is a Real Thing, and People Are Saying It’s… Not Bad?

Sure it’s a wholly-Indonesian creation, but it’s pretty much common knowledge that Indomie is so well-loved that it’s become a go-to quick-fix staple among Asian households all over the world.

But what about Indomie ice cream, though? What sort of market would a product like that have?

Well, according to netizens, the official Indomie ice cream isn’t bad at all. Initially announced on April 1, 2023, many thought that it was an April Fool’s prank pulled by parent company Indofood, but as we can see, they were pretty serious about putting out Indomie and Choc Rocks-branded ice cream cones into the mainstream.

Dubbed as a “creamy, sweet, and savory” treat, these ice cream cones have unsurprisingly driven a bit of a buzz on social media, with many Indonesian content creators having already shared their tasting experiences with the new ice cream product. And for the most part, they’ve been pretty kind with their ratings, too.

Some heavily-followed TikTokers like Jessica Effendy have deemed the ice cream to be reasonably-flavored (as opposed to something bizarre like we’d all expected), and have even claimed that the overall flavor was akin to something like a mocha, which is understandable considering its flavor make-up.

Another Instagram page said that the ice cream was pretty unique, and good enough to be something for breaking the fast during the Ramadan season.

No doubt, many will now be itching to try out the new Indomie X Choc Rocks ice cream, but sadly, it’ll only be available in very limited quantities, and will only be on sale until April 24, 2023.

If you end up not being able to get it though, you might perhaps take heart in the fact that this isn’t even the first time there’s been an “Indomie ice cream”. Just a few years ago, one ice cream manufacturer (now defunct) attempted its own Indomie-flavored ice cream, although that iteration may have been a more direct approach to the desert (as opposed to mixing it with Choc Rocks).

What we’re saying is this: If you really want Indomie ice cream, don’t fret. You might come across such a treat again in the future, especially considering how many people are actually interested in selling (and buying) such a product.

If you really can’t get enough Indomie, perhaps their beauty product line is something you might be interested in:
