Indonesia-based online restaurant startup Dailybox is bringing halal Indonesian cuisine to Singapore with its first location at Supply Chain City, Jurong.
The F&B brand also partnered with GrabFood to have its products delivered within the city. CEO of Dailybox Group, Kelvin Subowo, said the cross-border expansion came at a time when Singapore is experiencing resilient growth toward food delivery services.
“Last year, some 2.5 million people used online food delivery in Singapore,” Subowo said. “That is almost half of Singapore’s population. By 2025, this segment is estimated to increase to around 3.6 million people.”
Dailybox Singapore offers more than 20 authentic Indonesian dishes, ranging from Tong Seng Kambing from Central Java, Chicken Woku and Rica-rica from Manado, Fish Curry from Sumatera, Vegetable Fritters and Tempe Fritters.
“There is more to Indonesian food than just Nasi Goreng or Satay Ayam,” said said Arcad Fadillah, head of product, Dailybox Group. “We have rounded up some of the best Indonesian cuisine that you just have to try.”
Founded in 2018, Dailybox started as a rice box provider before moving to food delivery and cloud kitchen services in Indonesia. The brand is part of multi-brand online F&B startup Dailybox, which is based in Jakarta.
Earlier this year, Dailybox Group secured US$24 million in its series B funding led by Northstar Group and Vertex Growth, with participation from existing investors Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India and Kinesys Group.
