Indonesian beauty retailer Sociolla enters Vietnam

Indonesian beauty e-commerce platform Sociolla has launched in Vietnam, with a brick-and-mortar store.

Owned by Social Bella, a beauty start up, offers a selection of beauty products, including makeup, skincare, hair treatment and perfume, from Indonesian and international brands.

The launch is part of Social Bella’s strategy to expand into new markets, with Vietnam its first overseas destination.

“As one of the fastest-growing beauty and self-care markets in Southeast Asia with a population of a digitally literate young generation, Vietnam bears a resemblance to Indonesia,” said Christopher Madiam, co-founder and president of Social Bella.

“We’re certain that Vietnam is the right country for our first international expansion,” he added.

Besides Indonesian and popular international beauty brands, Sociolla has also partnered with Vietnam’s M.O.I Cosmetics to distribute its products.

Sociolla’s Vietnam launch follows a US$58 million funding round, with investors such as Singaporean state investment fund Temasek and its private-equity subsidiary Pavilion, participating alongside Singaporean venture capital firm Jungle Ventures.
